Summer is for BBQ and sushi. We had three BBQ’s; a sushi party, a sea food BBQ and MJ BBQ. Two of them were at master G’s gorgeous house just next to Brandise and the last one was at MJ’s house along the Charles river. At the Sushi party, we bought all the fish — octopus, tuna, salmon, caramari, eel and mentaiko (some spicy chili fish egg) — at Yoshinoya at Cambridge. (Yoshinoya 36 Prospect Street, Cambridge (617) 491-8221. No Hello Kittie.) They kindly gave us some extra fish.
When people started coming we did not have anything ready yet. Biking G was busy showing around his house so Viking Mike , Aloha Aliz and I started making sushi like crazy for more than an hour. Aliz had never made sushi before but she did great. Mike made special teriyaki chicken sushi and is a rolling sushi master so he was given a special nori belt. I, a son of Rising Beaver, made a box of boxed sushi, which was the worst sushi of the day so put it away. I kept making sushi even after 2 other chefs also started eating. Every one seemed like the sushi — people do not like sushi did not showed up and only one Japanese, who used to Canadian sushi, was there to judge so it was easy to please people. In the end no sushi was left behind.
At our sea food BBQ, we ate sword fish, salmon and scalp and others; relatively small number of people showed up so we ate more and talked more with all the people. I walked to BC to Brandise and it took about two hours. I took wrong turn so I walked some extra. When I was checking my map some one called me; that was Sunkissed Mike who lead me to the house of G.
In the labor day party at the MJ’s new house along the river, I BBQed. The people were mostly from BC but lady E from Whitehead came there as well. She mentioned there is a Northern European Club in Cambridge. It will be interesting to see how much Swedish I can speak. Tak tak. Jag har studier Svensk för 1 vecka från en bok. Min första England lärare är en dam från Sverige. Så Jaag borde höra något Svensk. Du kanna köpa Svensk fisk på Higgins.
We had a party at PCs house recently and I asked why John Kerry lost last time. It seems no one really liked him even people who voted to him; he should wake up and is boring and so on. John Kerry went to our Law School, that might be why he lost it. So who will be the next Democrat candidate?
We came to conclusion that Mass. Liberal stuff is basically non-sense. People here are liberal but not extremely so and we think people here are fundamentally more conservative except Cambridge and not so easy going. Liberals in somewhere else are really more liberal.
Driving in Boston is most horrible in USA and drivers here are nasty and mean to people from other part of the country — only NY comes close. Traffic in Montreal is crazy as well.
